This segment of our Employee Spotlight will feature our Human Resources Assistant, Jessica Fox.
1. What is your position at Chula Vista Resort? How has this position changed since you first started at Chula?
I started here in 2014 as an inspector in the Condos. I then became Assistant Manager roughly seven months after, and then manager. I took a position as a Human Resources Assistant in May of this year.
2. Why did you first choose to work for Chula and why did you stay?
I actually worked at another resort in Wisconsin Dells and when my coworker changed employers to start at Chula, I decided to apply here too. I stay here because I enjoy my job and I also love the close connection I have with my coworkers. It can feel more like family at times.
3. What is your favorite part about working at Chula?
My favorite part about working at Chula Vista Resort is the close connection I have with many people here, from people I used to work within Housekeeping to many others.
4. What has surprised you most about working here?
My own personal growth has surprised me. I have learned so much, and I am eager to continue learning more.
5. What do you wish other people knew about Chula Vista Resort?
I wish other people knew that yes, this is a job and there are many days where you may feel defeated, but you have support. We have many great people behind us starting from the top.
6. What piece of advice would you give to a new employee?
I would give new employees the advice, “Don’t give up.” If you are feeling frustrated, speak to someone. Everyone here is willing to listen and help find a solution.
7. What accomplishments at work are you most proud of?
I am proud of my growth and the close bond I have with many co-workers.
