Wedding Coordinator

**This is a full time year round position. Must be able to work extended hours and varying work schedule as dictated by the business.

The Wedding Coordinator will help create and promote a positive, lasting impression to all guests and clients while providing accurate information for all queries. The Wedding Coordinator is delegated sufficient authority to accomplish the tasks and duties to achieve the goals and objectives for the event and Chula Vista Resort.

Essential Job Functions:
* Plan, organize, and coordinate all events by using a personal expression of each client and turning their vision into reality.
* Solicit, sell, and detail weddings through direct sales efforts to ensure budgeted financial results are achieved and exceeded.
* Service the market segment for catering, billing, menu, and social arrangements as contracted to ensure an above and beyond client experience.
* Effectively communicate with the various departments to ensure that the meeting and related functions are executed to exceed expectations.
* Maintain well documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient, organized and knowledge manner.
* Display a calm and attentive approach in solving problems and handling difficult situation, collecting information and sincerely helping to resolve them.
* Determine, communicate, and monitor personal and department achievements and performance standards on a daily basis.

Job Qualifications:
Required- High School Diploma

**A degree in Hotel Management and/or related field would be helpful, but not required.

An understanding of the wedding market segment and needs in this market is required. Sales experience to up-sell food, beverage and other resort services.

Preferred- 2 years of catering, group sales, or conference services experience in a resort or hotel with function space.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Strong communication, organizational and time management skills. Personalized attention to detail and creative. Ability to understand sales, catering, conference service booking system such as Delphi, Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Understanding of day-to-day operations of a hotel/resort.

Physical Requirements:
*Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Body Positions:
Sitting, standing for at least 8 hour shift or more.

Body Sense:
Have full use of eyes and ears, full power of speech.

Body Movements:
Walking, turning head and torso, bending arms, wrists, and fingers.

Mental Requirements:
Must be able to do routine math calculations.

Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, well enough to give instructions, relay information, and carry on effective interchange with customers, vendors, and company staff.
